It is the exhibition of new bamboo of the next generation.

At this exhibition,
only a work of the art object is exhibited not a traditional work.

I go to NY in November
and give a lecture at New York Japan Society gallery
and a senior high school and am going to demonstrate and workshop.

My artist name changed from " Takeo " in " Shouchiku" from
January 1, 2006
" Shouchiku " is a name to give before inheriting " Chikuunsai ".
I assumed Master's name of " Shouchiku " as a successor.
This solo exhibition is a succession to a person's name exhibition.

The solo exhibition was finished safely. Thank you very much.


Aim!! the master of the Japanese folkcraft
No. 11 an experience and discovery to be excited for Kids.
(It is a bamboo workshop this time)
It is the workshop which Panasonic plans as one of the mecenat activity.

Sakaishiritu TAKAKURADAI Elementary school (fifth grader)
WorkShop (Class visit), Friday 22nd Feb.

I produced a flower basket by the class visit of a fifth grader.
It is the school which did telecon in January.
The students arranged a flower in a finished flower basket.

I performed video conferencing with the students of the fifth grader.

Sakaishiritu TAKAKURADAI Elementary Shool Chikuunsai Studio
I connected a school and the studio on TV and taught it
about the habits and a kind of the bamboo,
the history of the bamboo work art.


East Weaves West : Basketmaking From Japan and Britain
Bringing together over 40 specialist-makers,
the exhibition offers a comprehensive insight into developments
in the art of basketry from opposite sides of the world.
Functional items, some still in daily use,are juxtaposed
with the highest artistic expressions of the medium,
presenting fascinating cultural comparisons and contrasts.
Co-curated by Mary Butcher with commissioned installations by
guest makers from Japan and the UK.
